Privacy policy
This policy explains what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Playing against the computer and reading lessons work without an account and without analytics.
Account data
If you create an account we store the data you give us and the data your play produces:
- email address, display name and a hashed password (never the password itself);
- your hand history, friends, lessons you created, progress, achievements and tournament results;
- a sign-in session record (created and expiry time, and the browser details your browser sends).
We use this data to run the service. It is not sold and not shared for advertising. It stays until you delete your account; ask us to delete it using the contact below.
Analytics (only with your consent)
Only if you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to learn which features are used so we can improve the site. We send coarse events such as: a page was opened (the address without personal parts and without the query string), a feature was opened, a game was started or finished (mode, result and duration in broad buckets), a language or theme was changed.
We never send names, emails, user ids, free text, chat messages, card contents or table and invite codes. Advertising features, Google signals, ad personalisation and User-ID are switched off. Until you agree, the Google script is not even loaded and no analytics cookie is set.
Google acts as our processor and may process the data outside your country. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months, then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you can:
- access the data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct it, or have it deleted;
- restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what happened before;
- complain to your data protection authority.
How to withdraw consent
Choose Cookie settings in the footer, or open Settings and use Cookie preferences. Withdrawing deletes the Google Analytics cookies and stops all usage statistics at once. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics stays off until you turn it on yourself.
Contact
